H.4885 Gun Ban
H.4885 is a piece of legislation to “Modernize Gun Laws” that was drafted by Massachusetts Legislatures then signed by both the MA House of Representatives and MA Senate. It was then enacted into law with Governor Maura Healey’s signature.
The timeline of events are as follows:
- 7/18/2024 – Bill passed by the MA Senate and MA House of Representatives
- 7/25/2024 – Signed into law by Governor Maura Healey
- 10/23/2024 – 90 days after signing: date that all provisions not otherwise specified, go into effect.
The above dates signify a dark day for the law abiding citizens of Massachusetts. This new law is in direct violation of US Supreme Court decisions: Heller (2008), MacDonald (2010), and Bruen (2022).
Petition For Repeal
CCFG has volunteererd to be a signing site to collect signatures for the petition to repeal the new law. In total GOAL needs to 75,000 signatures to make sure it is enough. Everyone counts on this one!
